Fucked Up are a Toronto Hardcore punk band that by any accounts I would never be interested in based on my general music preferences. However over the past few years I’ve really come to like them a lot. They have some absolutely amazing albums such as David Comes To Like, Glass Boys, The Chemistry Of Common Life, Dose Your Dreams and Hidden World along with a huge number of singles. The music is fast and tight, clean sounding yet totally over amped and distorted and a singer, Damian Abraham who is as close to indecipherable as one could imagine. You REALLY need to be in the mood to listen to them but man oh man are they ever good…NOT for everyone for sure. Anyway the band has something called The Zodiac Series that they have been doing since 2006. It is a song released on 12″ corresponding to the Chinese Year of the ____. To date they have released the following:

The band just released the 19 minute long “Year of the Horse Act 1” on their bandcamp site and will only be available there for the next few months. It appears as if this will be a full album with the other songs listed as Act 2, 3 and 4 and the band announcing proper format for sale to follow. I love the ambitious nature of everything this band does and it is clear this is going to be another killer album based on what is currently available. It is all presented as if it is a part of a play in 4 acts.
